Los alumnos estudian la historia de los Estados Unidos empezando por los primero pobladores del país y su exploración hasta el movimiento del oeste y el asentamiento en California.
En ciencias, los estudiantes experimentan con el clima, química, y anatomía. La actividad favorita de los estudiantes es cuando se van por una semana al campamento de Educación de Ciencias al aire libre de Jone's Gulch por una semana. Allí aprenden acerca del medio ambiente realizando investigaciones vivenciales trabajando con estudiantes de otras escuelas y visitando diferentes hábitats. Los estudiantes además tienen la responsabilidad de crear y organizar una casa encantada como actividad de recaudación de fondos para asistir a esta educación de campo.

In fifth grade students write research reports and 5 paragraph essays as well as narratives and book reports. The reading and writing curricula are aligned so that students analyze how authors develop plot, suspense, vivid characters and settings, and then they use those skills to write fabulous narratives of their own.
The students study United States history starting with the first people in North America and the exploration of the Americas up to the westward movement and the settling of California.
In science, the students experiment with chemistry, weather, and the human body. The students' favorite activity is when we spend a week at outdoor science camp at Jone's Gulch where they learn about the environment by doing hands-on investigation, work cooperatively with classmates and students from other schools, and visit many different habitats.
As you can tell, fifth grade is an exciting and fun-filled year.
